Recital 101

The Dance Loft annual recital is the culmination of the instruction experience.  The purpose of the performance is to exhibit the skills the students have learned, and to help them grow, building self-esteem and self-confidence.  The experience allows the student to perform in public, on a professional stage with lights, costumes, scenery and an audience.

DO YOU KNOW THE NAME OF YOUR DANCE?

TO KNOW WHAT’S GOING ON, OR BE ABLE TO ASK QUESTIONS, YOU”LL NEED TO KNNOW THE NAME OF YOUR CHILD”S DANCE.

DO YOU KNOW THE CLASS MOM?  SHE IS IN CHARGE OF YOUR CHILD.

One Mom from each class is the CLASS MOM. Her job is to make sure all the dancers look alike and to stay with her class.  She will help the dancers with hair, make-up and anything else that is necessary.  This is the only parent that is permitted back stage.  The students remain back stage during the half of the show in which they dance.  During the other half of the show, the students and CLASS MOM are escorted to the balcony where they will watch the other dancers.  At the end of the show all students will be presented on Stage for final bows and participate in the Finale dance.  ALL DANCERS WILL BE PRESENTED ON –STAGE DURING THE FINALE.

TUITION

The cost of the Costume and tights is included with each month of tuition.  The costume portion of each month’s tuition must be paid even if there was no attendance that month.  Costumes go home after all fees, tuition and all their financial obligations are finalized.  ALL FEES, TUITION, AND OTHER FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS MUST BE FINALIZED BEFORE COSTUMES GO HOME.

SHOES
New shoes are not needed.  Sometimes the shoe color needs to be changed to accentuate the costume or make all the shoes in the class the same color.  Parents often go together to purchase on can of paint to paint shoes.  One can of paint ($5) will color 3 pair of shoes.

PICTURES

Picture week is May 14-17: Individual Pictures and the Class Picture will be taken during regular class time. Wear your costume to class and style your hair according to your teacher’s directions. We have found that a little lipstick and blush enhance the quality of pictures but it is your choice.

PAY FOR PICTURES ON THE DAY THE PICTURE IS TAKEN.

A picture envelope needs to accompany each dancer into class. One envelope is needed for each costume. If you have multiple costumes, you will have multiple envelopes. No purchase is required for the dancer to be included on the Recital Picture Wall.

PICTURES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PICK-UP AT THE DANCE LOFT PLUS AFTER JULY 4TH.

The Recital is a positive experience for these young dancers. They enjoy performing the skills they have been taught and they enjoy watching others. They are so proud of themselves when they see the love in your eyes. It is a treasure that cannot be measured. Let’s work together to make sure that this is the best show ever.

Sincerely
