Studio Profile

Dance Loft Plus has a large professional facility fully equipped for learning to dance and move!







 
Located at 1791 West Second Street in Xenia, Ohio our studio is situated conveniently near State Route 35, State Route 68, and State Route 42.  Also just a few minuets away from Walmart and downtown Xenia.  Our facility was originally constructed as a convient store but in 1990 was remodeled into the current structure housing our business and offering hundreds of students an opportunity to dance.
Out side there is plenty of parking in our large parking lot.  Safety is a concern of ours both in doors and out.  Which is why we have provided generous lighting of the entire parking lot during the long, dark winter hours.  We also do our best to keep the lot cleared of snow and ice to prevent any chance of injury prior to entering our building.
Studio Space
There are two studio spaces in which to teach the many anxious students that grace our facility.  Each studio space has been equipped to provide the highest quality of dance and movement experience to each student.
Each studio has a long wall of mirrors and shorter mirrors.  Mirrors allow students and teachers the chance to check the bodily alignment, group unison, and assistance while learning a variety of techniques.

Each studio has a double row of barres along two walls.  Barres provide students with the support they need to learn balance work, and gradually work up their confidence in their skills to perform those same skills out in the center of the room.  Additionally barres provide older students a chance to get some much needed stretching do to the height that the barres are set at.  We provide a double barre set up so that the barre is accessible by students of various heights.




We take great care in preventing injury while dancing at our studio.  Which is why we have installed Stage Step "Floating" professional dance floors in each of our studios.  Our 'Floating' floor rests on a system of high density foam to absorb the shock and impact of regular dance movements.  This benefits the students by reducing fatigue and preventing injury that can be the result from dancing on hard surfaces.

The top layer of our flooring surface is a professional vinyl composite by Stage Step Floor.  This Surface has a certain amount of controlled slip to allow for sliding in dance movement, but is not slippery like tiles and waxed hardwoods found in other studios.






Each classroom has a sound system that allows a variety of age and style appropriate music to be used in each class.  Also available are a variety of props that are incorporated into the Creative Movement, Dancing Education, and other classes when needed.  Folding Chairs and mats are moved into the room once a month for 'Peek Week', when the parents are allowed to come observe the class.


Lobby Area

The Dance Loft Plus has a spacious and welcoming lobby area where parents are invited to stay and wait for their students to complete their classes.  We have tried to make the variety of seating arrangments comfortable and conducive to our waiting parents.  

Families do not have to be bored while they are waiting at our studio.  Wireless Internet connection is readily available to our waiting parents and students who have business to attend to.   A television with VHS and DVD capabilities are available for our customers use.  You could watch your favorite television show while the students are in classes or a video from our library can be easily popped in to remenise of past performances. There are also a variety of dance, fitness, and sports related magazines available to browse through. 

Another unique feature our studio offers to our parents and students is an expanding dance and fitness library.  This library contains childrens books, extended literature, textbooks, manuals and DVDs on a variety of dance related subjects.   Childrens books range from the most basic picture books to pre-teen readers and chapter books on both fictional dance characters and biographical stories from dance.  Other topics covered are folk dances, various points of history  and people in dance.  Also within our library is a pictorial and filmed record of our 20+ years of business.

Have children that are too young for dance lessons?  Parents are still welcome to bring their younger children to the studio.  We have play corner that provides a variety of toys and coloring books to entertain them with.  Toys include Mega Blocks, stuffed animals, table and chairs, a workbench with tools, and more.

The Dance Loft Plus also provides plenty of space for our students to store their street clothes, shoes and jackets while they are in dance class.  We have a wall of cubby boxes and coat hooks that students are welcome to use.   These boxes allow students to keep their personal items together and it keeps confusion of who's dance shoes are who to a minimum.   We also have a dressing room for students to change from their street closes into their dance clothes in private.

Retail Shoppe

The Dance Loft Plus also has a Retail Shoppe so that you never have to go too far to find your dance things.   Young dancers tend to use go through tights and shoes quickly due to growth spurts and high activity levels so we are sure to keep a steady supply of tights and dance shoes which are used in all of our classes.   There is also a selection of children and adult leotards (some sizes are limited), dance bags and dance trinkets.  Dance costumes also make for wonderful Halloween Costumes so during the Month of October we also have unused costumes for sale.
